Gâteau

.........Variant of Black Forest......

This was prepared by me and my sister on a weekend.. As it can be seen from the picture, the Gâteau is not very appealing to the eyes, but of course the taste was quite appealing!!!!!!!

I had used the Betty crocker's Devils food cake mix for making the recipe.

After the chocolate cake is done, we need to cool it for 1 hour and then comes the role of whipping cream.

Using a blender/mixer whip the cream i.e beat until soft peaks form (If you're using a mixer, start at a low speed to avoid splatter).

Then the final part :

On serving plate, place 1 cake layer, rounded side down. Spread with half of the whipped cream, then 1 cup cherry mixture to within 1 inch of edge. Top with second layer, rounded side up. Frost top with remaining whipped cream. Spoon remaining cherry mixture over top. Sprinkle with sliced almonds. Store covered in refrigerator.(Source : Betty Crocker's Black Forest Recipe)
