Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

Oats are one of nature’s most nutritious whole grains and are rich in natural fibre. They are fantastic for a healthy bowel and are also slowly digested, which means they keep you going for longer. Oats are an ideal food for people with diabetes as they help to keep blood sugar levels steady.

This filling smoothie will keep you going all morning as well as giving you a healthy start to the day

1 cup cooked oats

1/4 cup plain low-fat yogurt

1 banana, cut into thirds

2 teaspoons honey

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method:

In a blender, combine oats, yogurt, banana, honey, and cinnamon; puree until smooth. Serve immediately.
