Again a dish with prawns..Its because I got a bottle of dried prawns form my home last week. If we ever had a craving to eat any non veg in our home at any time, prawn chutney powder was the last resort. Because non vegetarian dishes are kind of not allowed in our house.Only when my dad is there, we will have non veg that too only fish .
We used to get dried prawns in small packets in shops, cleaning the prawns was a tedious task, but still in the end you could eat something good(compared to the veg thoran/curry)
This time I asked my mom for a readymade chutney powder from home. But she had sent me this dried prawns powder in a small bottle. And the advice given was to take 2-3 tbsp , add cocconut , grind and have it fresh!!
SO here, I'm preparing the same and having it with boiled rice and moru kachiyathu.
Ingredients
Fresh grated coconut – 1 cup
Dry prawns powder - 2-3 tbsp
Shallots – 4 chopped
Dry red chillies – 4-5(You can add more if you want it very spicy)
Salt – To taste
Method:
1.Dry roast the prawns and red chillies.
2.In a mixer bowl, take the coconut, salt and shallots and whip it for 1 minute (Another method: you can roast the grated coconut, shallots, and red chillies too: Disdv of my method is that the dish won't have a longer shelf life and u need to refrigerate it also)
3.Then add the mixture from step 1 and blend it till becomes a power form
