After a long wait time, i realised that enhancements of my baking skills is only possible with a convection oven .So we set out our journey for buying the so called oven. And finally we got the oven delivered last week.I have a long list of items which are stored in my cooking wishlist :)

I hope to cover or rather prepare all my wishlist items in a month or two.First item on the list was a crumble , was thinking to prepare with pear/apple.Finally settled down to Apple.I had tasted this dish prepared by my French colleague's wife .Needless to say, it was yummy and I loved it to the moon and the back!!!

So here here comes my apple crumble recipe

INGREDIENTS

90 g plain flour

60 g butter, diced

90 g demerara sugar

440 g cooking apples

1 tsp fresh ginger juice / 1 tsp thinly grated ginger

75 g choco chips

DIRECTIONS

1.Preheat the oven to 190C/375°F.

2.Put the flour and butter into a bowl and rub in until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Stir in 50g of the sugar.

3.Peel, core and slice the apples and spread them over the bottom of an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle over the remaining sugar, then the ginger, then the chocolate.

4.Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the top. Bake for around 30 minutes or until turning golden.

5.Serve with vanila ice creamhttp://nithusatheesh.wixsite.com/gourmetdilettante/single-post/2014/07/14/VanilleEis
